Does anyone find it hard to remember long texts? You might wonder how to define a long text; what if I told you it’s over 10k words, and you need to essentially remember the essence? Well, at the very least, make sure to get the names and dates right.
This museum job, like it, but struggling
Yes, I find it extremely torturous to recite the paragraph, not due to the details, but because the logic of storytelling is difficult to process. Even with a Master of Science degree and over five years of experience writing papers, I am struggling to recite 400 words and deliver a speech to a small group of strangers about a single exhibition. The pressure is immense.
The luck of skill of presentation? The obsession with detail? Or might be both, i guess the real problem lies down to one aspect, the logic, and a tinge of tactic.
We’re storytellers, not lecturer
Everyone has their own sense of aesthetics, but one thing people share is a natural fascination with stories. This is why K-dramas or ancient Greek mythology are so intriguing. People are drawn to these narratives and are often willing to pay to experience them.
The key lies in the structure of the story, interwoven with scattered knowledge and key insights. Ultimately, people are not just buying information, like the dates or materials showcased in an exhibition—they can find those details online for free. Instead, they are paying for the experience and emotional connection the story provides.

Family could be your nightmare, especially the kids and uncles who consistently asking questions showing their man-side
One thing the supervisor (the boss) keeps emphasizing is to maintain some distance from the kids. They tend to constantly interrupt to get your attention. Their parents, on the other hand, often indulge this behaviour. After all, they feel they’ve paid for the tour, so it’s your job to answer all their kids’ questions.
Those uncles can be particularly challenging to handle, especially if you look young. They tend to bombard you with questions and expect you to know everything. It becomes a real problem if you don’t meet their expectations—after all, why should they feel they’ve paid you if you don’t seem to know everything they want to hear?
